Gnome ornaments

Christmas gnome ornaments are completed! 33 of them to be exact. I am not a gnome person by any means but I made a few of these last year and I just couldnt help myself and had to make some more this year! I am obsessed with these. Everything is cuter when its smaller right?! These are made out of wine corks, faux fur from Hobby Lobby and Joanns for the beards, various materials and embellishments, twine, and lots of hot glue that I pray holds up when people store them after Christmas in this Florida heat!

To make: gather a bunch of wine corks!

For most of my corks I cut a rectangle  of the faux fur out about 2"x3" long. When cutting use a razor blade and cut from the back of the material only cutting the knitting that hilds the fur together. Never use scissor or you will cut the fur on the other side. Hot glue the fur around the bottom half of the cork. They will look like this:

Next cut a piece of material about 3x3" or longer depending how tall you want your hat and how long your cork is. Hot glue the material around the top half of the cork but also covering the top of the faux fur. I also hot glued the edge of the material to the other half to complete the hat. Then tie twine around the top of the hat. This will be you hanger so make it long enough. Tie it in a knot and the come back up to the top of the twine and tie it in another knot. Find your middle of the the face, seperate the fur, and glue in your small wooden bead as the nose. Then decorate how ever you like!
