Herb pot stands
One of my favorite things to search for at thrift stores are random metal objects to turn into something unique. After one of my ventures I stumbled upon this tiered piece shown on the left.
I picked it up for $1.99. I already had some small terracota pots from the Dollar Tree that just so happened to fit perfectly inside. A lot of times I will pick up random pieces separately and eventually find two that match perfectly together. A few weeks later I was wandering around Michaels and I stumbled upon these:
They were $11.99 for this size. They had a larger one for around $20 as well. I decided to turn mine into herb planters. I started by giving my metal piece a fresh coat of black matte spray paint. I used Rustoleum 2X flat balck spray paint.
Next I gave my terracotta pots a quick paint job with some white chalk paint and let it dry completely. I used white chalk paint by Waverly. You can pick this up at Walmart.
After that was dry I took my stamps and using black permament stamp ink I stamped my pots with a script font. I used Iron Orchid Designs stamp called Kindest Regards. You can find a local stockist online to purchase it or search on Etsy and find a lot of retailers. I also used Archival black permanet stamp ink that you can get from Michaels.
The IOD clear stamps are bendable so ink up your stamp and then bend it along the sides of your pot being careful not to smear the image. Repeat thebimage until thebwhole pot is covered to your liking. Last, I got some small herb picks from Walmart. Thyme, Basil, and Rosemary. Hot glue some floral foam into your pots then add your herbs. I also hot glued on some spanish moss from the Dollar Tree on top to cover the floral foam.
And there you go! These are perfect to sit on a countertop or shelf in the kitchen. Dont pass up those random metal pieces you come across at thrift stores!
