Santa Post Card Ornaments
I found this post card stamp at Hobby Lobby.
I started by stamping it onto some white cardstock paper I had so I would know what size to trim my planks down to. I used a miter box to trim down my planks to the exact size of the stamped image but if you are saw saavy you could quickly knock it out.
I had this "Dear Santa" stamp that came in another stamp pack that I purchased from Amazon. I wanted to stamp only the wording and not the entire image so I inked up only the portion I wanted to use. If you get ink on any other part just use a baby wipe to remove it before you apply the stamp.
I added the wording to the post card line.
Next I needed some writing. I only had this stamp that would fit. The writing was in cursive but that was okay. This set also came from Amazon. I inked it up and applied it to the rest of the lines underneath.
Now I needed to decorate my post card. I thought a Santa face would look great so I got out this stamp (also from Amazon) and inked it up in red and added it to empty left corner of the postcard.
I used some distress ink to age my card by using a blending sponge and ran it across the edge of the postcard.
Then mod podge your post card onto the wooden plank.
Let fully dry. I also mod podge over the top of the cardstock for extra protection. Then using a sharp pointed tool poke a hole into the postcard where you drilled the holes in the wooden planks.
I added some red and white bakers twine for the hangers.
These came out so cute! They are one of my favorites that I've made this year.
